  • Filing taxes and getting tax refunds, credits, or any other payments will not hurt your immigration status or the status of people you live with in any way.

    Many immigrant families with a social security number (SSN) were eligible for the 2020 and 2021 Stimulus and Child Credit payments.

    Most immigrants who had an individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) by 4/19/22 were eligible to get the 2021 stimulus and Child Tax Credit for their children with SSNs.

    If you did not get your COVID payments, it is not too late to get help.

    Immigrants with an ITIN also can get the new MA Child and Family Credit for covered household member who have an SSN or ITIN.
